Junior Cohort (Ages 13-15)
The Junior Cohort is built around short, high‑focus learning bursts that match the natural attention span of younger teens. Each week includes two 45‑minute sessions — one for instruction and one for guided practice — giving students consistent touchpoints without overwhelming them. This rhythm helps them absorb foundational concepts in Python, SQL, and Tableau while working inside the Databricks environment. The pacing is gentle but structured, allowing students to build confidence quickly through small wins, hands‑on exploration, and clear visual feedback from their notebooks and dashboards.
As the weeks progress, students move from simple Databricks notebooks and logic exercises into real mini‑projects that feel meaningful and age‑appropriate. They learn how to upload data, explore it with Python, run basic SQL queries, and create their first visualizations in Tableau — all in approachable steps designed for younger learners. Because we meet twice per week, they get steady reinforcement, faster troubleshooting, and more opportunities to share their work.
By the end of the cohort, each student has a starter portfolio with Python scripts, SQL queries, and early Tableau visualizations — all created in manageable increments that keep motivation high. The Junior Cohort is ideal for curious beginners who thrive with encouragement, repetition, and a predictable learning cadence.
Senior Cohort (Ages 16-18)
The Senior Cohort follows the same two‑session weekly rhythm but applies it to deeper, more challenging material suited for older teens. Splitting instruction and project work into separate 45‑minute blocks gives students the cognitive space they need to absorb advanced concepts in Python, SQL, and Tableau while working inside Databricks. This structure prevents overload, supports deliberate practice, and mirrors the workflow used in real analytics teams.
In Session A, students learn professional‑level skills such as data cleaning with pandas, Delta Lake versioning, multi‑table joins, window functions, modeling patterns, and multi‑sheet dashboard design. In Session B, they immediately reinforce those skills through guided project work — building pipelines, refining queries, troubleshooting logic, and iterating on visualizations. This cadence dramatically increases retention and leads to more polished, thoughtful capstone projects.
Because students meet twice per week, they maintain momentum and accountability throughout the 8‑week program. They receive frequent feedback, make steady progress, and develop strong habits around iteration, documentation, and analytical storytelling. By the end, each Senior Cohort student produces a full capstone that combines Python analysis, SQL modeling, and a Tableau dashboard — a portfolio piece that genuinely stands out to colleges and early‑career programs. The Senior Cohort is ideal for motivated teens who want a structured, high‑value learning experience that feels like a real analytics academy.
